Mercy High School in Burlingame offers a serene Catholic environment, fostering a sense of peace and community. Its picturesque campus provides a tranquil backdrop for engaging activities and dedicated teachers who strive to enrich students' academic and spiritual growth. While the majority of faculty exemplify professionalism, there have been occasional instances of unprofessional behavior and pettiness among a minority. Nonetheless, the school remains committed to nurturing students in a supportive and inclusive atmosphere, where they can flourish academically and morally.

Mercy Burlingame has been a good experience over the past 4 years. There has always been help for those who went and asked for it, you just have to advocate for yourself so that they can help you. The most of the teachers are good at meeting the students where they are at and have the ability to explain each topic in a different way if you did not grasp it completely the first time. There is a new food service this year which is not that amazing, especially compared to what there used to be, but there are still days when it is really good.

I liked being at Mercy a lot. The teachers are great and if their not, the school removes them and tries to find better. The sports are all pretty good and the campus is beautiful!

Over my past years at Mercy, I have been empowered by my teachers and classmates. The atmosphere of this all girls school is very inspiring and reassuring. Teachers are doing everything in their power to help their students strive. Assistance and help when you need it is always there for students, this is extremely beneficial for every student. The counseling and guidance and Mercy is also very supportive, they thoroughly make sure you have every right resource and requirements to graduate. I am beyond happy to be apart of the Mercy community.

Mercy High School Burlingame’s pros outweigh the cons. It’s an environment where you are embraced for your differences. The student body is diverse across all categories: race, sexuality, class, home life etc. It’s where I’ve made life-long connections and valuable relationships. The teachers went beyond their role as educators and took on the roles of supporter, mentor, friend, and role model. It is an environment where I felt comfortable as a young filipina woman who comes from a lower-middle class household to excel. I was welcomed with open arms when trying a new sport. They supported boundlessly when I was struggling the most with my academics and mental health. Mercy made me proud to be a woman. It taught me to use my voice and use it loudly. Every woman there — educator, staff member, or peer — has been a role model for me. In the future, the change I would like to see is more young girls excited to go there transitioning from middle school to high school.

Mercy High School is an enriching, uplifting institution that empowers the women it educates and facilitates independence, compassion, community service, and innovation. As a Catholic all girls school, immense emphasis is placed on the value of kindness and service. Students work with and for one another, creating bonds to rival sisterhood and lifelong friendships. The school offers numerous extensive programs for students with learning differences or students who wish to challenge themselves with rigorous course loads. Mercy also has a wide range of clubs and honors societies that students can be involved in. I have been able to thrive and succeed in the loving, uplifting community of Mercy, being supported in every aspect of my life.

To start of the campus is beautiful and so is the community there. I have created great relationships with my teachers who have helped me along the way. I have thrived tremendously in my academics compared to middle school. The small classroom size and all girl campus gets me engaged in my learning and more one on one learning time with the teachers.

My daughter has loved and hated her high school experience. Her teachers have mostly been supportive as well as the administration. She has hated it because there are rules she needs to follow.
I have enjoyed having her have special support she needs through Ames. She also loves the counselors. They have helped her a lot.

Going to Mercy Burlingame which is an all girl school the girls here can develop their hobbies, voice their opinions, and become more self-assured in a safe environment free from prejudice or gender-based stereotypes. A smaller community can also encourage a close-knit environment and offer more individualized support and attention from teachers and peers. As with any school, there can be areas for improvement. Some kids may desire better technology resources, a more diverse student body, or greater possibilities for extracurricular activities. Some students might also think that the school might benefit from a more forward-thinking curriculum that addresses contemporary social issues and equips pupils for a world that is changing quickly. In conclusion, even though an all-girl school in a small town can have many benefits, it is crucial to continually assess and enhance the institution in order to meet the changing needs of its pupils.

I am a senior at Mercy High School, and due to the lack of support from the administration, I am saddened to say I am unimpressed. After 4 yrs, it has become prevalent that Mercy focuses on insignificant rules and their image rather than students wellbeing. Marketing themselves as a tri-school is a complete facade as they do not align with either Notre Dame or Serra. Mercy does not provide college prep until senior year, very damaging. Mercy also starts school at 8:30 with an end time of 2:40, when many private Bay Area schools start at 9:30 ending at 2:30. In addition, if a student comes tardy, even by just one minute, to class they will be marked late and after 3 occurrences they will be punished with one hour detention. The uniform is outdated and the campus is outdated/underfunded and there is not ample space. They ban certain shoes with no explanation, ban wearing outerwear until Nov 1st, and they ban certain areas for students, and the faculty is not empathetic to student’s.

Lied to from the staff, targeted and harassed all of junior year from the school staff. Not getting support from counselors and staff when it comes to getting ready for college

Tuition is overpriced for the value of education and facilities. There is no school gym, the pool is not regulated (meaning Swimmers and Waterpolo players cannot use it officially), school lunch is around 10 dollars, and uniform rules and skirt lengths are prioritized over student issues. Lesson plans are based on google slides and PowerPoint presentations. Russel Hall bathrooms and classrooms have not been renovated in 20+ years and several bathroom stall doors have fallen off. In order to drive to school as a Junior or Senior you must have a parking spot but you must pay for a parking spot (if there are available spots in limited parking lot).

This school primarily cares about their image and not the students. They could care less about the mental health of their students, especially those on an AP and honors track. Mercy does little to help with the college admission process, not at fault to the one overworked college counselor. If you struggle with mental health issues and plan on taking advanced classes don’t expect to get support :)

Mercy High School is an amazing school. The teachers and students are welcoming and warm to the incoming class. The sisterly environment is overwhelmingly sweet and encouraging.
